Agustín Bardi

Violinist, pianist and composer (13 August 1884 – 21 April 1941)

Bardi felt Tango with a countryside essence, as if it were a transplant of the traditionally Argentine gaucho sensitivity to the music of Tango, which is the most representative sentimental manifestation of the city.

Such is the case of “Se han sentado las carretas”.

Bardi’s works always retain freshness and strength, reaching ever greater attraction in their audiences for the beauty and authenticity of their content.

Osvaldo Pugliese

Pianist, leader, composer (December 2, 1905 – July 25, 1995)

In the 1940s, Osvaldo Pugliese ventured into recording distinctive instrumental pieces that foreshadowed the avant-garde movement of the time.

One notable creation from this era was “La yumba,” a composition that eventually evolved into a veritable anthem for his orchestra.

Despite facing the suppression of his orchestra on broadcasting platforms due to political censorship, Osvaldo Pugliese’s musical influence remained resilient over the years. The attempts to curtail his widespread popularity proved futile, as his artistry continued to resonate with audiences, transcending the barriers imposed by external constraints.

Agustín Bardi

Violinist, pianist and composer (13 August 1884 – 21 April 1941)

Bardi’s tangos were not written to be played in the manner of primitive ensembles, without harmonic concerns or aesthetic interest in achieving greater musical enhancement.

The greater technical possibilities of the musicians of later promotions allowed them to enter the spirit and the musical structure of Bardi’s tangos.
