Roberto Arrieta

Singer and composer (12 September 1915 – 17 September 1978)

In 1933 he joined Juan Canaro after a short tenure in the aggregations led by Anselmo Aieta and Alejandro Scarpino.

Thereafter there was a tenure with Pedro Laurenz’s orchestra and, as of 1939, his premiere as a soloist on LR3 Radio Belgrano, where he performed for two years until he switched to Radio Mitre.

In 1942 he joined the orchestra of Lucio Demare and recorded, among others, the tango “Canción de rango (Pa’ que se callen)”.

Roberto Arrieta

Singer and composer (September 12, 1915 – September 17, 1978)

He debuted at age 16 with Juan Maglio (Pacho).

Soon later, he was required by Carlos Di Sarli in his sextet. They performed throughout the year at the café El Nacional and the cabaret Casino Pigall.

The singer continued growing and establishing his style and was summoned by maestro Lucio Demare to join his orchestra.

The first recording was on April 14, 1942: “Un tango guapo”.

Singer and composer (September 12, 1915 – September 17, 1978)

He was a baritone singer with a style typical of Buenos Aires, with a personal phrasing, with a unique way by which he was requested by several orchestra leaders, mainly by those who gave particular importance to musicality and rhythm.

Maestro Lucio Demare summoned him to join his orchestra in 1942. 

That same year he recorded “Soy muchacho de la guardia”.

Lyricist (September 10, 1897 – October 13, 1983)

He was the author of many renowned tangos in the twenties.

Many of his numbers were composed in collaboration with Gerardo Matos Rodríguez, author of “La Cumparsita”

In his prolific oeuvre, very important titles are standouts, like “Mocosita”.

Violinist and composer (9 September 1909 – 5 May 1952)

He started when he was a boy.

He put together the Trío América, quite successful, along with Aquilini and Sureda.

Thereafter, the Orquesta Rostan (a name that combines the surnames Rosich and Ricardo Tanturi).

As composer he wrote, among other tangos “Pinta orillera”.
