Marcelo Solís

Born in Argentina, through his family and the community that saw his upbringing, Marcelo has been intimately involved with Tango all his life. Marcelo has been an Argentine Tango dancer, choreographer and instructor for over 30 years. His love for Tango dancing and tango music, particularly from the 1930’s through the 1940’s, is undeniable when you meet him. Marcelo is a milonguero.

As Tango instructor Marcelo makes emphasis on musicality and the connection of dance partners to each other and the music, he stresses that Tango is a social dance framed by a specific set of values that are expressed through its codes of etiquette, and he encourages and promotes his students ability to improvise on the dance floor. After the training you receive in Marcelo’s classes dancing becomes an easy game to play. With these elements Marcelo creates a unique atmosphere through which his students can experience what a Milonga in Buenos Aires is like.

To allow his students to experience Tango and its culture at its birthplace, Marcelo offers a personally guided Tango Tour to Buenos Aires every year. If you are planning on visiting Buenos Aires don’t hesitate to contact him; his knowledge of the City and its culture, the milongas, restaurants, and the pulse of Buenos Aires are a priceless asset you shouldn’t miss.

Miranda Lindelow

Her desire to learn Tango brought her to the Argentine Tango group Cambalache, over seventeen years ago, in her home-country Sweden. It was with them that she started to dance, learn the poetry of the Tango music and the culture of Tango, and later on how to transmit this art to others. At this point, Tango became a fundamental part of her life and who she is. In 2008 she moved to Paris, France...

As a teacher, she is transmitting Tango to her students with a strong emphasis on Tango as an entire culture. The embrace uniting the couple and the musicality are always cores in her teaching, as well as the focus on Tango as a social dance at heart. She gives her students a strong base of solid knowledge and technique, and the possibility to express their own personality in their dancing while becoming a part of a beautiful community.

Mimi Mehaouchi

Mimi began her journey dancing Tango in 2013, under the training of Marcelo Solis. Today she continues her training with Marcelo, while also assisting him in group and private classes on an as-needed basis. Mimi travels frequently to Buenos Aires and has trained with several Maestros/as and Milongueros/as there.
As Tango requires many virtues, Mimi practices yoga to encourage growth in patience and self-awareness. And to become more attuned to the sense of self in motion with another, she has trained the Brazilian martial art, Capoeira.
Mimi is a milonguera who enjoys sharing her passion for Tango. She believes expressing ourselves through dance is essential to life. The main aspects of Tango she focuses on during private classes are walking, embrace, and musicality, with the overall goal of preparing students to dance safely and comfortably in milongas.

About Tango

“Tango is Life”. What does this sentence mean? It suggests that those who do not tango don’t know what life is. Can such a radical thought make sense?
Ask anyone who is involved in Tango, passionately, which is the only way to be involved in it, and that will be the answer.
This attitude in relation to Tango is rooted in the fact that Tango gives you fulfillment, opening you up to the possibility of making your life a work of Art. Read more, click here.
