Gorrindo achieved a close relationship with Juan D’Arienzo´s orchestra, whose performances had reached enormous popularity.

He was closely linked to its leader and several musicians of the formation, which was the vehicle for making many of his tangos be known.

It was to the Rey del Compás that Gorrindo gave the lyrics of his tango “Paciencia”.

D’Arienzo composed the music for him and recorded it immediately, with the voice of his singer Enrique Carbel on October 29, 1937, achieving immediate success.
