“Dancing is everything for me, I feed on it.”

“I dance and I am nurtured.

I signed many contracts, for example in the provinces: Salta, Córdoba, Tucumán.

And I, even though I was not paid, I danced because I felt it.

That is to say, I did what I felt like to and I was also paid. That is wonderful. It means that I feed on tango, I enjoy teaching.

I spend all day long teaching. In Europe, they love me very much. So much so that I receive letters, they send me invitations, it’s very nice.

And I learned by myself. It was a question of trying, to make a step, another step. And then I dared.

Later the practice in clubs came, among men. That is to say, I led you, you led me: in other words, you learned to lead a woman. That to dance on Sunday, on Saturday.

We practiced creating some steps. There were no women at the practices. It was only with men. We practiced it to dance with our girlfriend, with our wife. It’s easier to dance with a woman.”

Ricardo Viqueira

Is a “milonguero porteño” and his connection to tango has deep roots. In his teaching Ricardo emphasizes the close embrace style and the roles of the axis and connection. He teaches his students how to recognize opportunities to change direction, develop the ability to dance in small or crowded spaces, and to create their own personal dance.

He is one of the most respected and sought-after teachers in Buenos Aires where he regularly teaches and in the rest of the world is well known exponent of the “milonguero” culture.

Ricardo is renowned for dancing Milonga with Traspié and Canyengue. He was the man behind the revival of the historic and well known Club Sin Rumbo in the neighborhood of Villa Urquiza. He also organized the Cristal Tango in Avenida San Martin in Buenos Aires.

Susana Miller

Susana is the key figure in today’s tango milonguero style. Her work as a teacher has influenced tango not only in Buenos Aires but also in the world of tango outside of Argentina. As the maestra of other tango teachers, Susana has worked with most of the famous teachers of tango milonguero, and today she continues to train a new generation of professional instructors.

Blas Catrenau

He started dancing tango in his early youth among other young men at the practice studio of Crisol and Verné. At the early ‘90s, he started organizing “milongas” himself. From 2003 to 2009 he leaded “La Milonguita”, one of the most famous “milongas” in Buenos Aires. 
In 2002 he won the First Metropolitan Tango Championship in Buenos Aires.
In 2003 he obtained the Tango Teacher degree released by Buenos Aires City Government. He was then authorized to teach at the Centro Educativo del Tango de Buenos Aires (CETBA), created by Masters and Dancers Gloria and Rodolfo DINZEL. 
His passion for dancing as well as the harmony he shares with his partners, and the gracefulness of his movements, capture and celebrate the essence of traditional TANGO.


Luciana Guido

She was Blas’ dance partner for several years. She was born in Buenos Aires. She studied with maestros milongueros and then techniques for women with many tango teachers. She taught at the “Escuela de Tango de Buenos Aires” and for a year and half, in Paris. Much of her international career as a teacher and dancer was developed in Europe. Due to her interest in popular culture, she took the postgraduate course “Social and Political History of the Argentine Tango” (FLACSO Virtual, 2014). She was recently co-director of the thesis “Barrio de tango, luna y misterio …”, based on the relationship between the neighborhood and tango lyrics.
