Mastering the Art of Argentine Tango: A Roadmap to Dance Excellence
I began my journey dancing Tango in 2013, under the training of Marcelo Solis. Today I continue my training with Marcelo, while also assisting him in group and private classes on an as-needed basis. I travel frequently to Buenos Aires and have trained with several Maestros/as and Milongueros/as there, such as Blas Catrenau, Susana Miller, Myriam Pincen, Ana Maria Shapira, Alicia Pons, Osvaldo Nattuci, Ricardo Viqueira, and Enriqueta Kleinman.
My interest in Tango has led me to learn more about Argentine history and culture, even daring to explore traditional Argentine knife-fighting (Esgrima criolla) with Jorge Pina. In addition to Tango, I enjoy dancing Argentine folklore (chacarera and samba), as well as other Latin rhythm dances such as salsa, merengue, and cumbia.
As Tango requires many virtues, I practice yoga to encourage growth in patience and self-awareness. And to become more attuned to the sense of self in motion with another, I have trained the Brazilian martial art, Capoeira.
