Our trip is open to all levels.

What drives me, personally, to organize these trips, is my infinite love for Tango.

My intention is to share that love with the participants of my group. Some participants who come on my trips are my students, and some of this students are fervent milongueros and milongueras like me. But not all, so the organization of the tour accommodates different amounts of passion for Tango.

Classes with the best teachers.

On the tour, many classes are included, with the best teachers available. I also take you to milongas where I am a regular and with the best level of dance.

Of course, I understand that not all participants have the same level of engagement with Tango, so I offer other alternatives in relation to milongas, in which the level of dance is not so high and those who are interested in having a good time without caring for an excellent level of dancing can go there with my assistance.

Tango requires that you know it in its entirety.

I also organize group outings during the day, between 10:30 am and 2 pm, to explore the city, its culture, and places that are relevant to the history of Tango. In my humble opinion, Tango requires that you know it in its entirety, everything that is related to this beautiful art, which is also a way of life. Being in Buenos Aires is your chance to observe this way of life up close.

There will also be time to take private lessons.

In addition to the group classes included in the tour, there will also be time for participants with a higher level of commitment to Tango to take private lessons. Learning to dance Tango requires private lessons, working interpersonally with your teacher, where individual particularities can be taken into account.

The tour itinerary is full, but flexible.

The tour itinerary is full, but flexible. Participants are welcome to rest when needed by choosing to skip a class or milonga in order to sleep in late or go to bed early. However, I am committed to the itinerary and will always be there.

Although I teach primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area, not all the participants on my trip are from the San Francisco Bay Area, or even the United States. I encourage the participation of people interested in Tango from all over the world.

I typically organize my trips around March and October every year. The next Buenos Aires tour dates are March 15 to 24, 2019; and then September 27 to October 6.

Tango is a multidimensional form of art.

Most see it primarily as a dance.

Dance involves much more than an activity reduced to visiting a dance studio.

This is absolutely true: it is a dance.

However, what I consider unavoidable to understand is that dance involves much more than an activity reduced to visiting a dance studio, practicing a series of body movements and gestures that later are going to be repeated more or less by heart, with attention only to the body movements, without any consideration of the music (and by “music” I mean: listening to every musical note, beat and silence of it, knowing the name of the song, who plays it, who composed the song, the general history of all of it and all of them ..), the environment in which the dance is going to be performed (in case of tango: the “milongas”), the social aspects of it (the codes of behavior at the milongas, its ethics and aesthetics), and the role that the dancer (as an individual participating in that whole approach to dancing) is going to take.

If I am going to learn all that, if I am going to dedicate that much of my time and energy to it, I would only do it if I am passionate about it.

Come to Buenos Aires with us and immerse yourself in the culture of Tango.
